Final orders that are put in place through the NS ISO process, including the provisional process, are enforceable. In Nova Scotia, the Maintenance Enforcement Program (MEP) is a provincial government program through which all court orders for support are registered and enforced. These orders may be enforced by similar programs in other reciprocating jurisdictions, though the program may have a different name. For example, the program in Ontario is called the Family Responsibility Office.
Provisional orders, which are orders under the ISO Act that are not yet confirmed - are not enforceable.
